I bought my first bike in 1997 when I was thirteen years old. The conditions for freestyle riding were completely different than they are today. The sport of Freestyle BMX was in its infancy in the Czech Republic and I was there.
As time went on, my riding improved and the number of sponsors grew and I was able to push my riding further. I didn't focus on any one discipline. I loved cycling and the bike gave me everything, and that was the case throughout the 17 years I was active in FBMX.
In that time, a few important turning points in my life had to pass. I graduated from high school in Brno. In 2002 I won the World Championship for the first time - Vert (expert). A year later, first place at the World Street Championships (expert) and in 2004, first place at the World Vertical Ramp Championships (masters). A year after that, I started working with the Author/AGang bike brand, where I was involved in the development of BMX bikes and my signature frame.
Everything went well and went the way I wanted it to. In 2005, an injury came. At the Woodward Training Center in the USA, I tore a ligament in my knee for the first time and had to have surgery. I lost a whole season. That bad year made me think and look at this lifestyle a little differently.
In 2006 I built my first mobile mini-ramp. With this step I founded the sports and production agency VSA Xtreme, which was dedicated to accompanying programs with extreme sports. After the first five years, my agency and the quality of service in this field has become one of the top in Europe and almost knocked out the competition in the country.
Despite several knee surgeries and broken vertebrae (in winter 2009), my riding was still at a high world level. Despite these health obstacles, I still aimed higher and was the only BMX rider in the Czech Republic regularly invited to the highest level of summer extreme sports competitions. Competitions under the banners of X Games and Dew Tour in the USA.
In 2010, I successfully completed a distance learning course at Palestra College of Higher Professional Studies, majoring in Sport Management. This step allowed me to improve my own training and skills and also to spread my rich sport experience professionally as a personal trainer and organizer of freestyle BMX camps.
In 2011, I rode the entire Dew Tour series in the USA for the first time in the vertical ramp and participated in the main X Games in Los Angeles, as the first summer extreme sports athlete in the history of the Czech Republic.
All my sporting dreams have come true. There are very few places in the world I haven't gone with my bike. Thanks to my perseverance and the incredible conditions of my sponsors (Author bikes, DC Shoes, Monster Energy and many others) I was able to live this BMX dream to the fullest.
On the day of my 30th birthday (2014), I officially ended my professional career as a BMX PRO rider. I started to devote all my efforts to my family and my work in the production agency VSA Xtreme.
My sporting past was the foundation of my future. Despite all my successes, I have always kept my feet firmly on the ground and been willing to work hard for my business and other goals.
In 2015, I was at the beginning of the new Czech Freestyle BMX Association, of which I was the chairman for several years. The association was part of the international and only worldwide Freestyle BMX association - IBMXFF and also closely cooperated with the Czech Cycling Association. It was time to give back to the sport of Freestyle BMX what it gave me and the position it put me in. I will never be able to say thank you enough.
Present:
VSA - Valenta Sport Agency will celebrate its 20th season this year (2025). The market is changing and VSA is changing with it. Today, the goal is no longer to create and implement accompanying programs. We are creating our complete events and projects with the main goal of spreading sport and active lifestyle to children and youth.
Personally, I don't perform as an athlete at dozens of events a year, but as a presenter. I do what I enjoy and what makes sense to me. I never stop being grateful for that.
